Your Chance to Play with the Best . . .New tournament format in 2012The President’s Cup tournament committee is excited to announce a new format for this year’s State Championship event. This new format will provide your team with great competition and every team will have the opportunity to advance to the next round – the Regional President’s Cup.Round-robin games will be played the weekend of May 12-13, with all teams guaranteed a minimum of 3 games. Teams advancing out of the round-robin will play a semi-final match on Sunday afternoon, May 13. Championship matches will be played on Saturday, May 19 – soon to be known as 'Champions Saturday'.In addition, to add to the atmosphere and excitement, President’s Cup and State Rec Cup Championship matches will be played at the same location on Champions Saturday - showcasing the best of Georgia Soccer at both the mid-select and recreational levels! President’s Cup teams will have the opportunity to show what its like to play at the next level. And everyone will be able to enjoy the camaraderie and festivities. It will be a great day, with great games for players, fans and soccer lovers of all ages.Join in the competition, excitement and fun at the 2012 Georgia President’s Cup.New Rules make President’s Cup the place to play . . . As the final event of the spring season, the President's Cup will be an exciting, competitive tournament offering great games, great fun and great results - State Champions in many divisions! The Committee uses many factors when ranking teams including league playing division and record and tournament results, etc.Advancement to Regional President's CupThe Champion of the top Division in the President's Cup in the u13 through u17 age divisions have the opportunity to advance to the Regional Tournament. Champions in the 2nd Division are 'State Champs' of their Division but do not advance.TeamsAll teams and players must be registered with Georgia Soccer for the ‘11-‘12 seasonal year. US Youth Soccer roster and ‘11-‘12 player cards are required to participate.FormatU10s will play 6v6 – maximum roster size is 12 players. U11s will play 8v8 – maximum roster size is 14 players. U13, U14, U15 will play 11v11 - maximum roster size is 18. U16, U17 will play 11v11 – maximum roster size is 22 players.AwardsIndividual awards for 1st and 2nd place teams in each competitive age division.DeadlinesApplications due - April 2012On-line RegistrationOn-line registrations are quick and easy and will be available in February. On-line registrations may be paid by check or credit card. RefundsEntry fees are non-refundable once entries close. A $25.00 fee will be charged to teams that withdraw prior to the entry deadline.Refunds will be made if the tournament is canceled due to weather or Acts of God, but approximately one-half of the entry fee will be retained.RefereesThe President's Cup is always looking for qualified referees.
